Hayley
Westenra in the Premiere of Different Voices at the Cadogan Hall London

Hayley Westenra after her performance in Different Voices, she performed
with Steven Fry Narrating and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra playing.
Different Voices was a magical family concert narrated by Stephen Fry
and featuring a wonderful score composed and conducted by Debbie
Wiseman, it introduces the audience to the sections of the orchestra by
combining music with illustrations projected on to a big screen.
When a beautiful park is threatened by an evil developer, the different
groups of children who use the park, (represented by strings,
percussion, brass and woodwind), come together in harmony to save their
precious place. The piece is similar to Benjamin Britten’s Young
Person’s Guide to the Orchestra, first performed over sixty years ago.
The Different Voices song, with lyrics by Don Black, was performed by
Hayley Westenra.
